WELCOME TO THE BLOCK
How we fight gun violence evEryday
Gun violence is not one single thing.
Gun violence is a societal disease, and just like any disease, it is accompanied by many different symptoms.

Each day, we strive to address these symptoms individually.
With each symptom triaged and treated,
the likelihood of an act of gun violence is reduced.
our methods and recommendations for reducing gun violence
We believe in the power of love.
As cheesy as that my sound, it's true. A hug is the most powerful tool in our arsenal.

We are a consistent presence in the neighborhood.
Violence occurs everyday. The act of fighting it should occur with the same amount of frequency.

Dinner on the block is an important community-building tool.
It gives neighbors the opportunity to get to know one another in a safe environment. It also provides neighborhood children a safe, well supervised area to play.

We invite positive influences into our space to interact with children from the neighborhood.
A child can never be exposed to too much positivity. We have had everyone from circus clowns and acrobats to presidential candidates come for a visit.

We actively listen to our children.
We encourage them to share their emotions with us and work with them on learning how to properly identify and their unique way of controlling them.

Unfortunately guns are a major presence in our neighborhood.
In order to promote legal and responsible gun ownership, we teach gun safety to adults and children with certified instructors.
Safe Gun Storage
We wrote a book about it. Because as we say on the block, " See a gun, Run, Run, Run!"
